  • Black Tulip Tattoo Studio is home to 4 wonderful artists , each with different styles and preferences. Browse the portfolios on the home page to see which artist will suit your style best. Their hourly rates will be listed on the artists portfolio. Like what you see? Fill out the email forum to speak with that artist directly.

  • Your tattoo means a lot to us, which means communication is key. In your email be sure to include key details such as:

    • Desired tattoo placement

    • Tattoo size in inches to give us an accurate representation

    • Clear tattoo description and clear reference photos that portray your idea

  • Why does your artist need an in person consultation?

    Depending on your ideas and the size of your tattoo , your artist may need to see you in person to discuss placement , size and all of the details you would like to include in your piece, free of charge.

Deposits

  • Deposits are very important because they secure your appointment date and time with your artist. Be ready to put down a $100 - $300 deposit when booking with your artist. This amount will come off the final total of your tattoo.

    You cannot secure an appointment date without a deposit.

  • No.

    Your deposit is a safety net for the artist to protect them against cancellations. Your deposit will be used to compensate the artist for their time if you choose to cancel your appointment indefinitely.

    We understand your money is important to you. In case of an emergency , be sure to contact your artist directly.

  • We understand that life happens and you may not be able to attend your appointment due to unexpected events.

    Artists require a 48 hour notice to reschedule your appointment. Any cancellations under 48 hours will result in a loss of your deposit. The artist will require another deposit to rebook your appointment. Artists have the right to refuse rebooking cancelled appointments.

  • No.

    Your artist may spend a lot of time with you during your consultation / appointment, therefor your deposit can only cover yourself. If a family member or friend would like to book an appointment , they will require their own consultation and deposit.

Other FAQ’s

  • We do not recommend getting tattooed while breastfeeding and do not tattoo anyone who is pregnant.

    If you have any further questions we recommend speaking to your doctor prior to booking an appointment.

  • Sunshine is ink enemy #1.

    Staying out of the sun is key to tattoo aftercare that you need to take this part of your protocol very seriously. You need to wear UV protectant clothing over the area of your tattoo for at least three weeks before exposing it to the sun, and once the initial healing phase (3-5 days) is complete apply an eco-friendly (less likely to cause a chemical reaction) sunscreen to the area, even when you have a shirt over top.

    If the area you would like tattooed happens to be sunburnt , you will have to wait until your skin is healed to come get a tattoo.

  • This will depend on what medication you are currently taking. Please advise your artist ahead of time if you are on any medications and consult with your doctor prior to booking your appointment.

  • This is artist specific , please reach out to your artist prior to your appointment if you are wanting to use numbing cream.

  • Yes !

    When you enter the main doors of the building , there is an elevator to access the second floor. Proceed down the hallway to door #210 and you’re there! Our studio offers open space to move freely.
